Chapter 804 - 414: Khorne’s Chosen: Huh? I’m Fighting Louis? (Part 2)
The priests spoke in unison. The radiance of Divine Arts intertwined as both sides clashed in a chaotic melee.
Olivia blinked her eyes.
She had thought the enemy would come straight for her, but unexpectedly, in Helmer’s eyes Grace was an even bigger threat than she was.
She glanced at Grace’s battlefield, then looked toward the distant area where Louis was already fighting so fiercely that heaven and earth seemed turned upside down. After pondering for a moment, she made her choice.
Help Louis first.
The Church of Glory and Justice looked pretty reliable.
She and Louis had both seen that Pope of Gluttony.
One look and he was the classic old fox whose smile never reached his eyes.
People like that generally tried every possible method to tidy up anything they could arrange in advance.
Even running into a situation like this now was probably within that guy’s expectations.
On the other hand, over on Louis’s side, she was worried someone might get hurt.
Thinking of this, she rushed toward Louis’s direction without the slightest hesitation.
Louis, don’t be scared, I’m coming to save you, spicy hot!
...
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Helmer’s expression was grave, the massive bone greatsword in his hand unleashing streaks of world‑shattering light, while the person standing opposite him charged straight in without the slightest fear.
That man’s power was too clingy, so annoying it drove people up the wall.
He had seen this kind of power before.
The power of that great one from the Church of Glory and Justice.
The very source that had once resisted the power of the Underground City.
He did not understand why a deity would have methods tailored specifically to deal with extraplanar creatures, and only those that stepped onto the Star Continent at that.
But one thing was certain: that power utterly restrained the Demon King Army.
So he had to find a way to eliminate this existence that could very well ruin his century‑long grand plan.
Yet this guy... just by wielding the previous Hero’s weapon, was actually fighting him to a standstill.
It was simply unbelievable.
"Without that weapon, you are no match for me."
He calmly stated what he believed to be fact.
"If you hadn’t been puffed full of cream by four gods, Max would’ve taken your head a hundred years ago."
Louis retorted with a squinting smile.
"Noisy."
Helmer narrowed his eyes, his movements growing even faster.
"Which just proves you’re nothing but a lonely old shut‑in."
As Louis spoke, streaks of five‑colored light flashed across his body.
The roar of impact rang out again.
Helmer’s body stalled for a moment, then Louis, stepping in, sent him flying.
A nearby hill had terrible luck; Helmer slammed into it and instantly turned it into a sunken pit.
Olivia stood by Louis’s side, speechless.
"This guy’s defense is a bit too high, isn’t it."
"High is normal. Even I have to work for every hit."
"I can’t join in head‑on. I can only sucker‑punch him for you. You need to be extra careful."
"Yeah. Stay out of the frontal clash—he’s not someone you can take on right now."
Even with that sneak attack just now, the one who truly injured Helmer was still Louis.
All Olivia had gained was the qualification to interfere with him.
But in a battle between powerhouses, things were often decided in a single instant—this little bit of interference was enough.
Watching Helmer crawl out from the rubble, Louis grinned oddly and said:
"You know what price a lonely shut‑in has to pay, right? This move is called mixed doubles."
Helmer said nothing.
Having someone stronger than him was no big deal.
Give him some time and he was confident he could surpass them.
But Louis dragging his own woman in to gang up on him, all while trash‑talking—this kind of play was hard for him to keep a straight face through.
His mentality was starting to crack a little.
And some people even started bullying the elderly on top of that.
Wave after wave of attacks came without end.
Helmer spurred his horse, trying to circle past Louis to take out that annoying source of interference.
But how could Louis possibly allow that?
Maybe in a straight slugfest he still wasn’t quite as strong as Helmer, but if it was just about tying the guy down, Louis felt the man might have to wait for his next life before thinking about breaking free.
After all... who could have more techniques up their sleeve than he did?
As the battle dragged on, Helmer’s expression grew more and more severe.
First 10 moves, the opponent barely managed to hang on, looking like he could collapse at any moment.
First 20 moves, the opponent seemed to have found the knack and began counterattacking.
First 30 moves, the opponent was moving with ease, while he himself had taken hits under that interference.
First 40 moves, the biting sword light made him instinctively back away.
First 50 moves, within that sword light he saw reflections of the supreme techniques he had mastered.
In that instant, he began to feel fear.
He had once read the memories of the Great Sin · Envy, and vaguely remembered that guy’s arrogance after seizing the Sword Master’s power.
He had also indirectly seen that look of the Sword Master’s sigh.
It was the sigh of a peerless prodigy under the influence of a cheat.
It had once been his favorite seasoning.
But now, in Louis’s eyes, he saw the shadow of the Sword Master.
"You thief, do you really have no intention of a head-on fight?"
"If you wanted a head-on fight, why didn’t you leave the Underground City a bit earlier back then? Double standards, huh?"
Louis laughed loudly and rushed forward again.
Now that Helmer could personally enjoy the Sword Master’s treatment from back then, you could say the wheel of fortune had turned.
The light in Louis’s eyes grew more and more dazzling.
Helmer’s power was very strong, and very special.
It should be power from his original world.
Very strong, and very terrifying.
But... not something that couldn’t be learned.
Louis certainly knew how strong he was.
He even knew that if he wanted to, by relying on short-term learning, to hollow out this Divine Realm foundation, that was impossible.
In battle, not even [Greedy Thirst for Knowledge] could be brought to its fullest effect.
After all, if he fully immersed himself in a learning state, he might just get harvested by the other side.
However, even just preliminary learning was already lethal enough.
Because he could stand from Helmer’s perspective and examine the other party’s flaws.
This alone was enough to make Helmer’s whole body uncomfortable, like being stripped naked under someone’s gaze.
The Eye of Truth could directly feed back the problems on Helmer’s body.
Once a flaw was found, that flaw would be rapidly magnified.
It didn’t take long before, under Olivia’s interference, Helmer was already in a situation where he had to grit his teeth and tank Louis’s damage.
He couldn’t stay here any longer, but he also had to make the other party pay a price.
Strike at the host of that Sloth authority?
No, he couldn’t kill her.
The other side had top-tier inheritance that prevented her own death.
Then he could only strike at the other one.
Obviously, if he attacked this Slothful host, it would hurt Louis more.
But attacking the other one would help his Demon King Army march toward victory even more.
He was a resolute believer in victory by any means.
As long as he could obtain final victory, what he did in between was irrelevant to him.
So...
"Die."
At the cost of letting Louis’s attack damage his very foundation, Helmer broke out of their encirclement and instantly closed in on Grace.
Grace’s gaze turned grim as pure light bloomed on the Priest’s staff in her hand; a twelve-winged Angel phantom appeared behind her, its body seeming about to solidify as dazzling radiance burst forth.
Its aura climbed step by step, actually reaching the level of a peak Demigod.
In ordinary times, a single battle producing several peak Demigods would already leave everyone dumbfounded.
But ever since Divine Realm–level Helmer and Louis had taken the field, even peak Demigods were not worth mentioning under such power.
Grace was ultimately no match; in just an instant, the defense the Angel bestowed on her and the counterattacks it unleashed were shattered by the pouncing Helmer.
"Cleave!"
The great bone sword wrapped in destructive power was about to sever her head.
Too fast.
Helmer’s speed was too fast; even the cardinal closest to her had no chance to free his hands to save her.
For a moment, misery appeared on everyone’s faces.
Blood sprayed.
Many already didn’t dare to keep watching.
But in the next instant, they heard Helmer’s painful howl.
"You bastard..."
Helmer staggered backward.
His face twisted as he stared at his severed arm, and at Louis’s calm expression, the latter having almost been bisected at the waist by the great bone sword.
He didn’t dare stay any longer and turned to leave.
He clearly felt that lunatic was about to go all out.
Grace stared blankly at the fresh blood splattered on her cheeks; streaks of Holy Light covered Louis’s body as she tried to heal him.
But Louis grabbed her hand and said, "Don’t waste the effort, it’s hopeless. That guy’s curse isn’t that easy to cleanse."
Grace’s mouth parted slightly, wanting to say something.
But Louis had already turned and charged toward the Chosen of Khorne.
The Chosen of Khorne, who had been entangled this whole time, saw this scene and his expression collapsed.
"Don’t you come any closer!"
Louis closed in without another word.
Skill activate!
Emerald Sacrifice!
Boom for me!
