Chapter 961: Serpent Secret Realm
Chapter 961: Serpent Secret Realm
The Void Secret Realm of the Serpent Race is a Secret Realm located relatively close to the Centaur Race, and Long Li doesn’t know much about the Serpent Race, only mentioning it’s a mid-tier tribe.Chen Guan researched for a long time, wanting to target other Void Secret Realms, but could not bypass the Serpent Race.
However, before figuring out the true strength of the Serpent Race, Chen Guan was hesitant to act rashly and decided to first scout within the Serpent Race.
After contemplating many strategies, Chen Guan unexpectedly discovered that the Serpent Race and Snake Woman are the same tribe, which sparked his intention to rescue Snake Woman.
The Serpent Race is quite xenophobic, but very tolerant towards their own members, so as long as Chen Guan follows Snake Woman, he could blend into the Serpent Race.
Chen Guan used the Secret Realm Pearl to shield his aura, but walking beside Snake Woman—who looks human but carries the unmistakable aura of the Serpent Race—made it impossible for Serpent Race members not to recognize her.
Walking together with her, others naturally would assume Chen Guan is also of the Serpent Race, only thinking his cultivation is so elevated that the average Serpent Race member can’t sense his aura.
Sure enough, with Snake Woman in tow, Chen Guan easily passed through the checkpoints of the Serpent Race, successfully entering the Serpent Secret Realm.
The members of the Serpent Race treated Chen Guan with great respect, perhaps believing him to be a prominent figure within the Serpent Race.
Most members of the Serpent Race have human bodies and serpent tails, yet upon entering the Serpent Secret Realm, the pair saw many who, just like them, lacked tails and had two legs, appearing almost indistinguishable from humans.
Even Chen Guan, accustomed to grand sights, found the scene before him in the Serpent Secret Realm to be astonishing.
No planets or land were visible, just enormous vines intertwining in the void, eerily resembling giant void serpents.
The length of any random serpentine vine might span several light-years, and such vines were ubiquitous in the Serpent Secret Realm, making it impossible to fathom the realm’s scale.
Moreover, dense clusters of red fruits were growing on these vines.
These red fruits varied in size, some as small as fingernail, others unimaginably large, making mountains seem insignificant beside them.
Regardless of size, the surface of these fruits mimicked snake scales, and Chen Guan could sense astonishing energy contained within each one.
These serpentine vines were akin to the liquid elemental energy of the Immortal Mountain Sect, uniquely representing the energy presence of the Secret Realm.
Though absent of the Immortal Mountain Sect’s liquid elemental energy, the energy extracted by the vines in the void manifested in the form of snake fruits.
The Serpent Race members could consume these snake fruits to acquire energy, accelerating their cultivation far beyond typical Sky Secret Spirits.
Chen Guan realized that simply from observing the Serpent Secret Realm, it was clearly not the possession of a mid-tier Secret Spirit tribe.
The energy amassed by the vines likely surpassed that of the Immortal Mountain Sect.
"The Serpent Secret Realm is undoubtedly a tier-three Secret Realm, brimming with abundant energy," Chen Guan was relieved that he did not rashly target the Serpent Secret Realm.
The Celestial Dragon Race is merely a mid-tier tribe, and Long Li is merely a young member of the tribe, so the accuracy of her information is uncertain.
Snake Woman was also stunned by the scene before her, staring blankly at the colossal vines, where a single leaf seemed as vast as a continent.
"Why are there so many members of the Serpent Race here!" Snake Woman swallowed nervously, murmuring with disbelief.
In her place, she was considered rare, a unique existence, whereas here, Serpent Race members were everywhere and not uncommon at all.
However, her main focus wasn’t on this, but the snake fruits. She could sense the energy within them was extremely compatible with her, holding fatal attraction for her.
Snake Woman wanted to know if she could freely eat those snake fruits.
Chen Guan did not allow her to eat the snake fruits but instead sought out a vine leaf with a city, where Serpent Race members were bustling about, looking vibrant.
The pair landed in the city, a colossal metropolis where at least hundreds of thousands of Serpent Race members resided.
The architecture was remarkably peculiar; it was clear these structures were built by the Serpent Race themselves, not in human style.
The creative abilities of the Sky Secret Spirit far surpassed that of the Earth Secret Spirit.
Within the city, shops and markets took precedence, showcasing a dazzling array of various commodities from the Celestial Secret Realm.
Celestial Secret Treasures, celestial rarities, and even enumerable Secret Techniques and Secret Skills were available for sale.
The Secret Techniques and Secret Skills here were not generated by Secret Cores but existed as text information.
Soon, Chen Guan saw numerous Serpent Race members selling snake fruits.
Chen Guan observed for a while, recognizing the snake fruits plentiful in the void were not freely collectible but likely owned.
Still, the price of snake fruits seemed inexpensive. The smaller, the cheaper; the larger, the more expensive—a fist-sized snake fruit cost only a single celestial coin.
Fruits the size of fingernails could be bought by the pound for just one celestial coin.
Celestial coins are the currency issued by Sky City, the universal currency of the Celestial Secret Realm.
Unfortunately, Chen Guan did not have celestial coins, so he merely browsed casually. A snake fruit as small as a fingernail might contain as much primordial energy as a Ten Thousand Year Vermilion Fruit.
Snake Woman gazed at baskets of fruits being sold, unable to resist swallowing her saliva, and turned to look at Chen Guan.
Chen Guan had no means either, lacking celestial coins, and seeing the Serpent Race’s situation, they could not currently act against the Serpent Race.
"Do you want to eat?" Chen Guan asked Snake Woman with a smile.
"Those are foods for the Serpent Race; I’m not interested," Snake Woman maintained her human principles.
"I actually want to try them." Chen Guan’s eyes narrowed into a crescent shape.
"You want to eat them? There’s no choice then; let’s buy a few to taste..." Snake Woman’s eyes lit up suddenly.
"I didn’t bring money," Chen Guan said.
"What should we do?" Snake Woman furrowed her brow in frustration upon hearing this.
"We can earn some money first," Chen Guan suggested, handing Snake Woman a small bottle, "Find an empty spot and set up a stall to sell this, then use the money to buy snake fruits."
"Can this be sold for money?" Snake Woman looked at the liquid inside the bottle, questioning its potential hesitantly.
"This is liquid elemental energy, it can definitely be sold, and surely won’t be cheaper than those small snake fruits. Just sell it first," Chen Guan instructed Snake Woman to find a spot to sell the liquid elemental energy while he continued onward.
As Chen Guan passed by, many Serpent Race members treated him with great reverence, even making way for him.
Besides being unable to sense Chen Guan’s aura and the depth of his cultivation, the main reason was he lacked a tail and had legs.
Such Serpent Race individuals obviously held a higher status than typical tailed Serpent Women, seemingly endowed with numerous privileges.
Ordinary Serpent Women felt uneasy around Chen Guan, unable to meet his gaze, instinctively bowing when passing by.
This proved convenient for Chen Guan as he strolled confidently through the city, gathering as much useful information as possible.
Chen Guan perused nearly every accessible store and building until he arrived at a relatively empty library, catching his eye.
The library was undeniably the easiest place to learn about the Serpent Race; upon entering, Chen Guan found it sparsely populated, with only a bespectacled, human-bodied serpent-tailed Lady Snake seated at the front desk, flipping through a book, presumably a library staff member.
"Where can I find the book in your hand?" Chen Guan asked directly, pointing at the book, in a commanding tone.
Chen Guan knew not to be polite to tailed Serpent Women; politeness might risk exposure.
