Chapter 821 - 821: The Wave-Particle Duality of Spacetime Adaptors
Chapter 821 - 821: The Wave-Particle Duality of Spacetime Adaptors
Two days passed in the blink of an eye, and the "weapon" to face the apocalypse was completed as promised.Changsun Zhong's expression carried a hint of relief.
"I didn't expect you to actually succeed," a monarch said in a complex tone. In the eyes of these monarchs, this was simply impossible.
However, the other party managed to coordinate and suppress through various means, completing it in an unbelievable manner.
"Cohesion, hope, coupled with a bit of motivation and external force—it's not a miracle, just survival instincts squeezed out," Changsun Zhong didn't take all the credit for himself and kept his promise to release all the monarchs.
The monarchs didn't expect it; they were released like this. However, their freedom was still somewhat limited — they would only gain complete freedom once the plan was finished.
Whether it was true or false remained to be discussed, but during the five days of imprisonment and detention, Changsun Zhong did not inflict any physical or mental torture on them. Instead, they were given the same treatment as the other detainees, although Changsun Shi did come several times to inquire, primarily using intimidation rather than force.
However, the monarchs were seasoned veterans, and knowing that Changsun Shi was different from Changsun Zhong, they merely cooperated with the intimidation, not taking it seriously at all.
"Is the inspection complete? Can we start?" Changsun Shi came over, a flicker of unrest in his eyes.
Changsun Zhong did not notice anything unusual and nodded, "Alright, then let's begin."
With this command, the community's signal-receiving server began to roar, forming vibrations that turned into shock waves, lifting large amounts of yellow sand.
With the backing of these sand particles, the shock wave seemed almost visible to the naked eye.
Everyone's expressions were tense, fearing that a problem might arise this time and all their efforts would go to waste.
"How confident are you of success?" Wang Linchi's voice came, alerting everyone present.
When the monarchs saw Wang Linchi appear, they realized they had been played by him.
Seeing the monarchs turn to look at him, Wang Linchi nodded slightly, "Long time no see. I'm glad you're still alive, but it's a pity you can't hold humanity back anymore."
This remark sent the monarchs' blood pressure skyrocketing; such words were as lethal as assassination.
However, considering Wang Linchi's strength, the monarchs dared not rebut.
They weren't blind; they saw the wariness and dread on Changsun Zhong's face.
"Still seventy percent, or did you make some move to make my 'weapon' fail?" Changsun Zhong seemed to guess something but from Wang Linchi's perspective, it seemed more like a bluff.
"Indeed, I did make some moves." Wang Linchi didn't deny it. As he spoke, the roaring of the community's signal-receiving server suddenly diminished.
As if there wasn't enough power.
"There's a problem in the energy area, how is that possible?" Changsun Zhong looked at Changsun Shi. Only his grandfather had the authority to make changes here, as this was his focus of inspections.
A problem occurring in the least likely place meant even the most unlikely guess could be true.
"You're right," Wang Linchi said with a teasing tone, "What thoughts do you have?"
"Yes, you're quite insidious," Changsun Zhong responded calmly, as if impressed by the other's wit.
Seeing this, Wang Linchi's smile stiffened — it was clear the other side was confident and fearless.
"Oh, so you're not done?" Wang Linchi looked at Changsun Shi, following the plan none other than a scheme previously enacted.
He didn't really care about the harm caused by the strategy, just wanted to see Changsun Zhong's shocked expression on being betrayed by his grandfather.
Unfortunately, he didn't see it. Even if the strategy succeeded, Wang Linchi felt a little disappointed.
"No, though the terms you offered were tempting, you are known to go back on your word," Changsun Shi stated with a stern face, having realized Wang Linchi's so-called one-year agreement was a lie, only giving them a month scared them off trusting anything Wang Linchi said.
No integrity meant that no matter how pleasant the words and enticing the promises, it was always a deception.
"Not bad, you've grown a brain, won't trust my side of the story alone." Wang Linchi wondered when the two had coordinated and how they kept it from him.
His words made the monarchs' faces more sullen, as they felt indirectly accused — trusting only one side of the story, seemed to suggest none but them.
"Our bet still holds, within a month if you don't interfere, I will still give you the world," Changsun Zhong declared his ultimate goal.
Wang Linchi restrained his forced smile, and turned to look at the "weapon", finally realizing the opponent's true intentions.
"It's not a 'weapon' but some device meant to transfer everyone," Wang Linchi voiced his speculation.
"I'm just curious, how did you hide this from me when the whole world is covered by my sandification?"
He was not the original body, naturally having many limitations.
Plus, the other's origins were extraordinary, deceiving him was normal.
"Have you heard of the wave-particle duality?"
"When matter sometimes exhibits particle properties and sometimes wave properties, through my superpower's interference with time and space, you entered a dual nature corridor."
"You exist at the particle nature level of matter, whereas we exist at the wave nature level."
"Both are on the same material level but exhibit different observation results."
"So, the surveillance you formed was just part of what you saw, not the whole."
"In addition to..."
Changsun Zhong rambled on and on; Wang Linchi listened with a dark face, realizing this seemingly naive person had strategized from beginning to end very well.
"More importantly, you are not complete, just a phantom in the process of evolution. If it were your original body, you would certainly see the truth."
"And what I gambled on was that your original body wouldn't come out, and clearly, I won that gamble," Changsun Zhong concluded.
"You're right, but what if I flip the table?" Wang Linchi retorted cheekily.
Just like a chess game, seeing himself about to lose, resorting to shamelessness.
"I anticipated that," Changsun Zhong responded calmly, unsurprised, "Why do you think I've created some transfer device rather than a weapon?"
"You've combined wave-particle duality with your superpower, impacting more than just my surveillance system; it covered the entire world?" This time Wang Linchi was indeed surprised.
This meant that Changsun Zhong had created more than one device; he actually made another weapon.
The weapon in front of him is real, and another device for transferring people exists at the relative material level. To access it, as Changsun Zhong said, his original body from the oasis pyramid must come out to act. Otherwise, using such a phantom simply cannot see through.
"That's correct," Changsun Zhong confirmed.
"No, with your strength alone, it can't be done to such an extent," Wang Linchi immediately dismissed this possibility.
Despite Changsun Zhong's exceptional abilities, it was impossible for him to accomplish these things.
"You're right, so what you're seeing now isn't the real me," Changsun Zhong's body began to turn semi-illusory as he said this.
Wang Linchi finally understood how the other side achieved it.
"Through unity with the universe or world possession, such a technique... can't be something you can possess!" Wang Linchi's first thought was intentions from other timeline worlds.
Except for them, he couldn't believe anyone else had such capabilities.
"Of course, it's not something we can possess."
"It was taught by your other intentions," Changsun Zhong's half-illusory face showed a smile, "He taught me how to deal with you."
"The most important word was 'don't be human.'"
As the words fell, Changsun Zhong's form completely vanished.
Waves of radiant light surged across the sky.
This was the wave material level, so Changsun Zhong appeared as light waves.
"Can we still talk now?" Changsun Zhong's voice stirred the luminous waves in the sky.
"I just want to leave with everyone, the world is still yours."
The request was simple; there was no intention of battling Wang Linchi to the end.
"Ha, slapped me in the face and just want to leave like that, really think I'm made of mud?" Wang Linchi flared up immediately. He's not the original body, no need to consider consequences, death was no big deal.
As for being sabotaged by other clones, he noted it down first — he'd retaliate when met in the future.
He's petty, regardless of whether it's the original mind, strike back first before anything else.
Betraying oneself, such a thing wouldn't happen to the original body, but with everyone being a clone, they'd pit each other mercilessly. Moreover, it was the other side's move first.
"Then I can only stall you, hoping we have another opportunity to meet," Changsun Zhong heard Wang Linchi's words, knowing peaceful resolution through dialogue was impossible, so he had to take action.
Negotiations broke down, so a battle was inevitable.
