Ji Chuan bit his lower lip as he clenched his fingers. Would he have done that if his mother had just listened to him for one second?

With that, he turned on his feet and walked out of the study leaving his mother to fume inside the study room.
"You...would I have treated you like this if you were as obedient as Shixun!" Madam Ji shouted.

Snatched the business of my father along with his daddy and went around spreading rumours that I was a stubborn and arrogant mer to the entire town where no one would take me as their husband! He is truly obedient! If he is so obedient, why doesn't he hand me back the businesses that belong to my daddy!"
"Chuan'er is not young anymore," Old Madam Ji stood up from her chair. "He can deal with such things and he is right, you have been avoiding him for too long. If you continue like this then he might really start hating you."
After speaking, she hobbled out of the study but came to a stop next to Ji Shixun before saying, "You really are greedy, aren't you?"
"Grandmother, I don't know what you are saying," Ji Shixun sweetly smiled at Old Madam Ji who smiled back at him. Old Madam Ji walked away after speaking her piece leaving Ji Shixun in pieces as he trembled in anger. Why? The plan that he came up with ended up in shambles.
