"Of course, I did!" Uncle Fu who was holding his youngest son in his arms looked at Zi Zan exasperatedly. "You and Dong Dong have been sending a bunch of pastries and cakes to our family every day."

"How can I let you leave without sharing something?"

Uncle Fu was simply speechless when he thought about how his daughters and sons had turned two sizes bigger because of all the cakes and pastries that Yu Dong and Zi Zan were sending them.

Yesterday was scones and the day before yesterday was cheesecakes before that was a pie made of meat.

His children were now used to peering out of the windows to wait for Zi Zan. In case she got delayed by something, the look of disappointment on the face of his children was something else.

Uncle Fu could not refuse Yu Dong and Zi Zan but it did not feel right to just take the pastries and cakes from them without sending anything back.

Fortunately, he got his hands on some berries which he dried and coated with sugar. Even though it was not much, Uncle Fu remembered that Yu Mai liked these sugar-coated berries a lot.

Even now he would come and ask for them, but these berries were brought by his sisters from their village and couldn’t be found in the Big River Village.

Thus, Uncle Fu could only wait for his sisters to come bring these berries.

Now that he had prepared these sugar-coated berries, how could he not send them to Yu Mai?

"My husband is right, Ah Zhan!" Aunt Wang hopped down the ox cart and walked over to where Zi Zan and her husband were standing. "This is a little something from us, there is no need to reject it. Do you want your Uncle Fu to get angry? He gets really scary when he gets angry."

"Shut up," Uncle Fu nudged his wife with his elbows. His gaze then moved to Wang Shuchun, when he saw her, his eyebrows delicately furrowed but he did not say anything.

Zi Zan on the other hand noticed that the Wang family had a guest, so she took her leave.

"It’s quiche," Fu Zhen answered with a frown. "Dong Dong—— well she is your aunt’s goddaughter. Her late mother left your aunt to take care of her."

"Anyways, Dong Dong is thinking of opening a bakery and cafe. Which is why she is experimenting a lot with pastries and cakes, Every day she sends us something new that she has made and asks for a review."

He then helplessly sighed and said to Wang Shuchun, "I don’t know why she even bothers, everything she comes up with tastes perfectly good and delicious. With Zan Zan’s skills and fire control, the pastries and cakes taste even better."

When Wang Shuchun heard that quiche was a type of pastry, her eyes lit up. She immediately took a piece when Fu Zhen handed her without hesitation.

’It is juicy and the seafood inside of it seems to be perfectly cooked. More importantly, even though the filling inside the tart is sumptuous and juicy...the pastry itself is crispy,’ Wang Shuchun thought while she looked at the perfect golden tart in her hand.

The delicious smell of the pastry made her stomach grumble and Wang Shuchun couldn’t help but take a bite.

The second Wang Shuchun took a bite, the sumptuous taste exploded inside of her mouth and her eyes widened in shock and surprise.

This—— was this still a simple pastry? Wang Shuchun couldn’t help but wonder.

Wang Shuchun chewed twice and the more she chewed the more her body shook and trembled.

It was too wonderful ...so wonderful that Wang Shuchun wanted to cry!
