The market was as lively as always. The moment they appeared, people flocked towards their stall.
Some even abandoned the things they had ordered from other people and ran over to purchase from Chu Miao’s stall.

"Monkey, what happened to you?" Chu Miao asked in surprise.

She then brought out a chair from her space and a small table.
She had Monkey sit on the chair then placed a bowl of hot chicken soup from the Soul Ring in front of him.
She didn’t add any meat, because she realized that he hadn’t eaten for a long time and eating something as complex as meat was not good for his health.
"Drink this soup first then we can talk." She said and took out another chair, then sat down near the door.
Monkey didn’t stand on ceremony and drank the whole bowl of soup hurriedly as if he had starved for weeks.
Once his stomach had something and he could master the strength to talk, he finally looked up.
However, his eyes were filled with tears.
"Our territory was taken over by some terrible people. Now, they are making people suffer so much that some have started practicing cannibalism to survive." Monkey said with tears almost streaming down his face.
"What do you mean? Didn’t your gang control the estate where Feng Tu and her family lives in?" Chu Miao asked in confusion.
"Yes, our gang used to control that place and we helped the people when they went out to search for supplies then took a cut. That is how we survived. However, a group of ruthless robbers suddenly showed up about two months ago. They raided the whole estate and insisted on taking over and making it their territory. We resisted at first, since we had weapons anyway. However, those people don’t care about honor or human life at all. They used the lives of the people there to make us submit." Monkey narrated slowly.
"How did they use the lives of the people?" Chu Miao asked, not understanding clearly.
"They took hostages. We thought they were bluffing so we didn’t do as they wished. But to our surprise, corpses of those held hostage would appear on the road, hanging by trees for all to see everyday. We had no choice but to give up our position to save those people. But to our surprise, things only got worse. They forced people to go out and search for supplies and if they didn’t bring back the amount specified, they would be killed. They didn’t even send their men to protect those collecting the supplies. So, many perished during that time. We tried to talk to them but they shot our leader in the leg, crippling him. Then, they started grabbing young girls and women and raping them. Many people upon seeing this, fled in the name of going out to search for supplies but never came back. Moreover, even when they search and get some food, those monsters take at least ninety-nine of it and barely leave anything. People began to starve. And when those people realized that the residents were escaping, they began holding hostages from their families when they went out. This way, they would be forced to come back. After a couple of weeks, people had nothing to eat and when someone got sick, there was no medicine. People began dying everyday. The community still has many people even after some went to the safe bases. However, the population kept dwindling because of those villains’ actions. My family has been affected too. To let my wife and daughter get something to eat, I had to starve myself. But now my daughter is sick and I don’t even know whether she will make it. I came out to see if I could get some medicine for her." Monkey explained everything in detail.
