Chapter 485: City Lord - 1
As for why Lyswenna’s strength was still high enough to be around 150 even if she didn’t utilise it much, it was because she automatically gained the 30% attribute increase granted by her Rare soul, according to her rank.
This was for archers; for mages, it was Intelligence and agility. As for beast masters, it was a balanced product of all factors. The world itself also automatically makes people sense strength according to their attributes and profession type.
So even when Lyswenna wasn’t exactly a complete Peak 3-star in every category, her stats were enough for her profession as an archer to qualify as Peak 3-star. Thus, that was what people sensed from her.
In the same way, even though Lily’s Intelligence had reached Pseudo 5-star, because her profession resembled that of a beast master, people still sensed her as a high 4-star, since that was where her remaining stats placed her overall.
Coming back to why commoners were so oblivious, it was because they only witnessed battles between beings from Low 1-star to Mid 2-star--any higher, and those fighters would be compelled to fight in an isolated area due to damage, and even then, most of those fighters possessed handicapped and uneven stats.
This also meant that even if someone’s agility was high, their body often wasn’t durable enough to handle movement at maximum speed. In the end, they had to consciously slow themselves down, making it appear as though individuals of that rank were only capable of such limited feats.
So witnessing someone like Leo—whose stats were extremely balanced—in action would naturally shock people.
If Leo had uneven stats instead, such as extremely high strength but low agility, he would never have been able to throw the coin that way because his fingers wouldn’t move fast enough. Conversely, if his agility far surpassed his strength and vitality, then his fingers would have shattered instead of the coin being launched at such terrifying speed.
The only other places commoners witnessed battles were livestreams or recorded videos, but something viewed through a screen—usually slowed down greatly—could never compare to experiencing it firsthand.
Not to mention, nobles intentionally tried to keep the common populace ignorant about the true nature of the world.
Even the world itself was an accomplice in this deception.
It would never allow a normal person to casually hear that a 6-star being could lift an entire mountain over their shoulder without being crushed to death. And if an ordinary person somehow did hear such information, they would die because their vessel couldn’t contain it... unless they had researched it themselves. In that case, they would gradually condition their vessel to store and process that knowledge.
In other words, people were not oblivious by choice, but because of their limitations.

Leo walked away from the store with Naelith and Lyswenna in tow. Behind him, the manager raised a hand, wanting to stop them and talk business, but he couldn’t utter a single word. The fear lingering in his heart still held him back.
"Are you both okay?" Leo asked, his tone already back to normal, as if whatever had happened just now was nothing.
"Thank you for worrying about us, My Lord. We are fine. But..." Lyswenna said softly.
"But?"
"But Lord, you shouldn’t have taken such a dangerous step for us. The man looked like someone important related to the City Lord. The women even called him young master. What if he is a legitimate son? You will get into a lot of trouble then, especially when the City Lord is rumoured to be a 5-star Commander."
"Ooh? Is that so? But shouldn’t I take proper care of my ’property’ and not let anybody step on it?" Leo replied with a faint grin.
Lyswenna’s face reddened in embarrassment as she lowered her head.
"I am sorry, My Lord, but saying that would have made it easier for you to deal with the situation."
Leo shrugged lightly.
"That’s true. If not for Nirvan coming to rescue her, that clown of a woman would already be arrested. As for going to the castle to deal with the problem, don’t worry about it. Tell me, if someone important to the City Lord is as weak as Nirvan, wouldn’t he have been assigned guards? Did you spot any around him?"
Both Naelith and Lyswenna thought about it. Indeed, despite the way Nirvan acted and how much importance he placed on himself, there hadn’t been any guards around him. And if there were hidden ones, they wouldn’t have been stronger than Leo. He would have sensed them, yet there had been no one.
"My Lord... how can someone who is all bark and no bite be so confident?" Lyswenna asked, a bit baffled by Nirvan’s confidence.
Leo laughed.
"Lecherous bastards who only know how to dominate weaker women are all like that. Don’t worry about it. He said we would settle things in the castle, right? Watch how completely stripped he will end up." Leo said, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.
"My Lord! If possible, please allow me to deal with him when the time comes. I didn’t like the way he looked at me," Naelith spoke up after remaining silent for so long, her tone suggesting she was ready to go to extremes for the punishment.
"Well, it’s unlikely you’ll get that chance, but don’t worry, I will make sure you get the desired result. After all, I need to keep my personal property satisfied," Leo said with a chuckle.
But internally, he was hoping they wouldn’t come out like Lily. He needed a few girls in the territory who would normally deal with such a problem. But Naelith’s enthusiasm wasn’t a promising sign.
Just how much influence does Lily hold over girls around her?
That only made Lyswenna even more embarrassed. Her use of the word ’property’ to get out of the precarious situation was backfiring on her terribly.
Not long after, Aaron and Dale finally spotted Leo.
How can someone travel halfway across the city so fast?! Both cursed internally. The distance between the restaurant and the feather shop was nearly half the city’s length.
After learning that the situation had merely been postponed, both men promised to help Leo back up his words. Afterwards, Dale established a connection with Lyswenna’s Jade Slip since Leo’s slots were already full, and they headed off towards the location City Lord would welcome all the students.
As Leo strolled toward the welcoming place, he curiously asked for one of the feathers Lyswenna had bought.
"Some kind of peacock beast, maybe?" he guessed after noticing the resemblance.
"Remind me to buy some matching feathers for Lily from that shop. I think the manager also wanted to talk about something," Leo told Naelith and Lyswenna.
Soon, the Realm Exploration would begin, and Leo was very hopeful about acquiring some Lizardmen slaves and, if possible, taming a Wyvern.
