Chapter 433 - 432: Protecting Her (Part 2)
He let his beloved girl drink such strong liquor, so he naturally had to drink it back.
Archer Quinn thought to himself, but the smile on his face remained gentle.
Director Simons looked at the three glasses of foreign liquor in front of him, and then he laughed heartily twice, saying: "I admit my mistake, I’ll punish myself with three glasses." As he spoke, he drank the three glasses of liquor in one go, just like drinking plain water, without any reaction.
Bella Acker admired these people’s drinking ability; after three glasses of foreign liquor, she not only got choked but also felt a bit dizzy now.
Cynthia Young asked in a low voice, "You can’t handle alcohol?"
Bella, feeling dizzy and slow to react, was stunned for a moment before looking up at her and nodding, "Yeah, I’m not good at drinking."
"Learn," Cynthia said decisively. "After getting drunk a few times, you’ll improve. There will be many gatherings like this in the future, and if you don’t want to be made drunk by others, you need to increase your tolerance."
"Okay," Bella agreed, lifting a glass of red wine from the table and taking a sip.
She felt grievance and sadness inside, and drinking allowed her to vent her suppressed emotions; the more she drank, the more she wanted to drink.
At some point, the person beside her changed.
Archer Quinn gently restrained her hand as she reached for more wine, softly saying, "Bella, you’ll get drunk if you keep drinking."
Her hand holding the wine glass was stopped, and Bella, her face flushed, turned her head to look. Her eyes, covered with a layer of mist, blinked before she recognized the person next to her, "Senior Quinn, why did you sit over here?"
Archer didn’t speak. With a gentle but irresistible motion, he took the wine glass from her and handed her another glass filled with warm water, softly coaxing, "Be a good girl, Bella, drink some warm water first."
Bella obediently took the water glass but suddenly stood up after just a sip.
Her abrupt movement caught the attention of Cynthia Young and Director Simons, who were drinking and talking nearby.
Bella’s head felt dizzy, and her limbs were already somewhat uncooperative, but she still had rationality in her mind.
Feeling everyone looking her way, her face suddenly felt hot. However, she was already red-faced from drinking, so her embarrassment wasn’t visible.
Bella tried to steady herself from swaying and explained, "I’m going to the bathroom." With that, she pushed away the chair behind her and attempted to leave.
Her legs wobbled, and after just one step, she staggered. Fortunately, Archer Quinn was prepared and immediately stood up to catch her.
Archer said to Cynthia and the others, "I’ll take her to the bathroom." With that, he half-carried Bella out of the private room.
The restaurant’s corridors were luxuriously decorated. Bella half-leaned in Archer’s arms, raised her hand to cover her mouth, and groaned, "Senior Quinn, I... I feel like throwing up."
Upon hearing this, Archer quickened their pace, leading her to the restroom’s public area, and placed a trash can in front of her, softly saying, "Bella, there’s a trash can here; do you still feel like throwing up?"
Bella looked up at him, her ink-black pupils glistening with tears.
Archer felt a pang of heartache seeing her like that. "Are you feeling terrible? Hold on, I’ll have someone get you some glucose."
"Okay," Bella nodded.
Archer took out his phone and dialed his assistant. As soon as it connected, he said, "Go to the pharmacy and get some glucose quickly. You must..."
He hadn’t finished speaking when Bella suddenly squatted down, clutching the trash can and started to vomit.
Archer said, "Hurry and bring it over!" He hung up the phone, then knelt beside Bella, gently patting her back to help her breathe easier.
