Chapter 1227: Of Course I Have the Final Say
William Turner’s voice drew Athena Linton’s full attention towards him, and she stopped talking to the two people sitting in front, quickly returning to her seat.
The two began a new round of argument, this time not about the dining invitation but about the term "little girl".
The car scenario quickly returned to how it was initially, with the two people in the backseat arguing fiercely, while the two in the front remained silent, one driving and the other leaning back and quietly listening.
This situation persisted until the car came to a halt. Even though the car was parked, the two in the back continued their unending discussion about the term "little girl".
"You two keep arguing in the car if you want; we’re heading out to eat first." After Easton Holmes turned off the engine, he turned to look at the two in the backseat. Though he spoke about getting off the car, he hesitated to make any move to exit.
Lily Turner glanced at him, silently curled her lips in amusement, and did not say anything, choosing instead to wait quietly for the argument in the back to end.
Upon hearing Easton speak, Athena Linton and William Turner realized the car had already stopped. They both looked outside and noticed they had arrived at the restaurant.
Ceasing their argument, the pair opened their doors and stepped out of the car.
Seeing them exit, the two in the front seats also hesitated no longer, opened their doors, and stepped out.
After getting out of the car, the four entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to a private room upstairs.
During the meal, the atmosphere was quite pleasant, with laughter and chatter. The earlier slight conflict in the car did not affect their dining mood at all.
Once they had eaten and drunk their fill, the four left the restaurant.
"William Turner! Come to our place at the compound, and we can do our homework together." On the way back, Athena Linton invited William to join them at their place. After extending the invitation, she remembered to seek the opinion of the two in the front, "Brother! Goddess Sister! You two don’t have any objections, right?"
One was his sister, the other his brother-in-law; she figured they would surely agree.
As Athena expected, Easton Holmes and Lily Turner agreed without a second thought.
"My wife and I have no objections." Having his brother-in-law over was a welcome surprise, how could he possibly have any objections?
Lily Turner, being William’s elder sister, naturally had no objections either. She reached out to Easton Holmes for his phone, "Honey! Let me borrow your phone, I’ll call Mom to let her know William is staying over at our place tonight."
Before she even finished speaking, a phone appeared in her palm.
"Hey hey hey! Did you even ask for my permission?" William Turner, feeling ignored as the other three in the car made autonomous decisions without him, voiced his dissatisfaction and protested.
Lily Turner rolled her eyes at him and extended the phone to him, "It’s up to you whether to go or not."
She could tell her brother was eager to go; he was just upset that they had made the decision without consulting him.
"Of course, it’s up to me."
William didn’t hold back, reaching out to take the phone Lily handed over. She had already unlocked it, so he only had to dial the number.
Upon hearing this, Athena Linton responded with a mocking "tsk!".
William Turner chose to ignore Athena’s reaction, dialing his mother Sophia Wood’s number.
