Chapter 689: Greedy Little Fellow.

Money Body’s subordinates were still baffled by the situation, though. So they asked more questions to clear up their confusion.

They especially wanted to know what the source of danger was, but Money Body refused to say more. So they could only continue to run with questions swirling in their heads.

As odd as their behavior was, it wasn’t the only odd thing going on at the moment. Another odd thing was that nearly every rank 8 cultivator who was in the Blessed Heaven World had chosen to leave when they noticed what Loki was doing.

Some rank 8 cultivators were young and oblivious to the danger. But the ancient ones who had more knowledge all chose to run. They also ordered every divine being in their alliance to escape from the world.

Loki didn’t know that all of these were happening. All he knew was that his plan was going smoothly without any interruption.

He was so confident in his safety that he had chosen to call the Divine Positions in the first dimension. Right now, his arms were folded across his chest with a smile on his face as the Divine Positions descended one after the other.

Every Divine Position that he was calling was from the money cultivator. So only one part of the divine constellation was being active.

This was a normal thing. After all, a divine being could only use the Divine Metacs of one pathway. What would be abnormal would be if he were calling down Divine Positions from different sections of the divine constellation.

He was doing everything according to the rules, but something abnormal still happened. To be specific, something went wrong after the fourth Divine Position had descended into the core of his Cave Heaven and joined his Life Fire.

With four out of six Divine Positions having descended, there remained two more Divine Positions yet to descend. But the remaining two refused to descend.

The two Divine Positions had already responded and were already falling. But they suddenly stopped descending. Then a gentle masculine voice suddenly resounded between heaven and earth.

The gentle voice said, "Who is this greedy little fellow? So it is a dragon. No wonder he is so greedy."

Then the voice spoke before saying, "Greed is not good for your health, little fellow. Greed is not good at all."

He didn’t see who was speaking and couldn’t determine where the voice was coming from. However, he didn’t need to know these things to suspect the identity of who was speaking.

He already had a guess in his mind about who was speaking. This was because this wouldn’t be the first time he had heard that voice. He had heard that voice before, and it gave him chills hearing it again.

His suspicions about the identity of the unseen person speaking were confirmed when a large, colossal hand appeared in the sky above the world. The sky tore apart as the hand broke through the heavens to descend to the earth.

He had seen this hand before, and just like last time, it was coming straight for him. This made his heart sink.

As the colossal hand came down, the divine beings watching from above scrambled for their lives. The ones who didn’t run quickly enough and were brushed by the hand disintegrated on the spot and died.

While the divine beings were panicking, the mortals below continued to live their lives oblivious to what was going on above. Even as the world disintegrated around them, they refused to perceive the danger.

It was as if their brains couldn’t comprehend what they were seeing, so their brains ignored the incomprehensible hand and its impact on the world. Only divine beings with the Insight Stat could understand the horror of what was going on.

However, no one could understand the horror more than Loki. After all, he was the target of the colossal hand.

This kind of thing had happened to him before. But this situation was a little bit different in that the hand wanted to kill him, not capture him.

In the past, a terrifying force had descended around him, which froze his body. But this time, the force that descended onto him was intent on converting his entire existence into the law fragments of the Money Pathway.

This highly destructive force didn’t target him alone. It affected both his Cave Heaven and everything around him. Even the ground below did not go unscathed. Everything that the destructive hand touched broke apart into law fragments.

When he was a mortal, something like this had looked like the world was disappearing into nothing around. But now that he had the Insight Stat, he saw that everything was actually breaking down into spirit creatures of the Money Pathway.

It was just that the spirit creatures didn’t stay in the first dimension after they were created. Instead, they faded away into the second dimension, where they floated upwards to the second heaven. This was what created the illusion that the world was disappearing.

Loki saw all of these happen as he activated the Rewind Metac and used it to enter the River of Time. Everything he saw was actually what was happening in the brief moment before he entered the River of Time.

In fact, escaping into the River of Time was an instinctive reaction for him when he saw the large, colossal hand. Escaping wasn’t something that he chose to do after deliberating. He didn’t think about it at all.

So while his body and soul were being disintegrated, he had already escaped into the River of Time. It was then that he thought about what had just happened.

Now that he was safe and had nothing to be worried about, he felt confident enough to say with anger, "I am greedy? What do you mean by claiming that I was greedy? How was I greedy?"

His internal voice was loud as he said this. This was because he wasn’t pretending to be angry. He was well and truly angry with the claim.
