Chapter 2237: Creating a system
Chapter 2237: Creating a system
"This certainly wasn’t what I wanted, but at least it worked out in the end..."
I couldn’t help letting out a long sigh.
After all, this really wasn’t the way that I had expected things to go.
If it wasn’t for that decision that I made to create heroes, then it really would have become a bad situation.
It wasn’t as if I didn’t understand what they were thinking.
No one wanted a single organization to hold all the power when it came to a crisis like this. It gave them too much power over the people and it would force them into a very awkward position.
Even if it was a unified religion that was accepted in all the countries, even if that religion had a good reputation, it wasn’t something that they could accept that easily.
Eventually power corrupts and even saints aren’t immune.
Which was why it was necessary to split up the power to a certain extent.
It was just that heroes really weren’t on the same level as those that could use holy magic.
Holy magic was easier since it was something that could be granted through the UI on the screen.
In fact, it was like adding an attribute to a character in a simulation game with how easy it was.
Though after granting them the power to use holy magic, I could tell that it wasn’t as simple. There was this kind of connection that formed between me and those that received holy magic.
Whenever they used holy magic, I could feel them draining a bit of power from me.
However, it wasn’t as if it was much since it was holy magic and not divine energy.
Holy magic and divine energy were on a completely different scale, so it didn’t even drain 1% of my total power to supply this entire world.
But it did show me that I could supply even more power to this world with divine energy.
I already knew that this world was being controlled by divine energy since I was using this system on it, but this showed that I had the power to go beyond just simply influencing this world with this system.
As long as I injected my own divine energy in, it was easy for me to do what I wanted with that divine energy.
As such, I had to now think about a system for heroes.
Since I had promised heroes, that meant that I had to figure out how to select who would become heroes. But to do that on my own meant that I would have to support this system full time.
It was simpler to create a system that would manage it for me.
Which was why I injected my divine energy into the screen to access the system.
The world was frozen in time, so I wasn’t worried that anything would happen.
Whatever this destruction energy was, it was still under the control of the system that had come with this world. So as long as the system itself was paused, it wouldn’t be able to do anything.
Once I accessed the system, I thought about how to design this system.
"It can’t just choose randomly since that would be too dangerous. Heroes would be stronger than normal people and letting them run around with that power would cause chaos. It has to be a system that can choose who can be trusted with said power."
Then after thinking about it, I added, "It’s not as if I can have them only choose those that have a pure soul either since power can always corrupt. There’s no telling what someone will become in the future."
There were many different things that one had to consider when it came to matters like this.
Which was why I started going into detail about what would make one a hero.
But the more that I went into it, the more that I felt that this kind of thing was subjective.
"What one person considers a hero wouldn’t be considered a hero to another person. This is all about how they would develop in the future, so it isn’t as if I can actually predict that. I’m not a real god after all..."
After a long moment of silence, I finally came up with a solution.
"I’ll just leave it with these specs then."
The specs that I used for the hero system was the most basic one that I could use.
I didn’t care if they were murderers since there were all kinds of different circumstances in the world. One person might have to do things that they had no choice but to do, but that didn’t make them a bad person.
After all, there were things like antiheroes.
Which was why the prompt that I left was...
"As long as they have a sliver of pureness and hope in their heart."
I would simply leave it to the people of this world and let them develop this world as they wanted to. The main reason that I was even here was because I had been sent here as part of a trial to guide them.
So it wasn’t as if I should excessively guide them.
Giving them the tools that they needed to develop on their own was more than enough.
"Now, let’s see how the destruction energy will react."
The other thing that I wanted to see was the end of the destruction energy.
While I didn’t know why the destruction energy had appeared in this world, it wasn’t as if that would change the fact that it was here.
Which was why I was using this chance to find out how to deal with it.
It was under control in this world, so I would be able to use it as a kind of experiment to see how to deal with destruction energy.
Perhaps this was another one of the reasons why those gods had created this world in the first place.
"Go on, create the heroes that will save this world."
