#199 - Chapter 9: Arya Serves Wine

The camp was in chaos. They crouched low and quickly ran towards the other side.

"Hey, kids, save us. Someone can fight!" Arya used her foot to pick up an axe and threw it backhanded. "Thud!" The axe embedded itself in the stake of the prison wagon. Needle snatched the axe and frantically chopped at the wooden planks.

Suddenly, a Lannister soldier appeared and knocked Gendry down with the counterweight on his sword hilt. Arya glanced around, bit her silver teeth, and charged towards him. The soldier revealed an amused expression, turning his wrist to give her a hard blow with the sword's spine.

Arya quickly bent down while running, picking up a one-handed sword that someone had dropped. When she was only about four meters away from the soldier, she slid forward, passing right under his crotch. While the soldier was still reacting, the longsword pierced up from under his skirt armor, and she twisted it violently inside using the force of her roll. The soldier's groin was completely mangled, blood flowing like a river. He wouldn't die for a while, thrashing and wailing on the ground.

His screams attracted a short, fat soldier. "What's going on? What happened?" he asked, reaching out to grab Arya's shoulder. Arya quickly turned around, the sword hidden in front of her stabbing upwards. It pierced the fat soldier's chin. His eyes widened, not expecting to die like this. Arya didn't pull out the sword, wiped the blood off her face, and rummaged through the guy's body. She actually found his money pouch, and also took his dagger and longsword. She turned back to Hot Pie and Gendry, who were still in a daze, and said, "What are you guys standing around for? Let's go!"

Hot Pie whispered, "Arya said he was best at killing fat people. I didn't think it was true."

"I don't know, but you better listen to him." Rubbing his swollen chin, Gendry picked up the sword from the convulsing soldier on the ground. The figures of the young teenagers quickly disappeared into the night.

Yoren and two other companions fought and retreated, drawing away six Lannister soldiers, including the strongest, Amory Lorch. They were finally caught up with before the bridgehead, all three suffering serious injuries.

In their desperate counterattack, they took down two more soldiers. The price was that the other two officers had several holes poked in them, and were not going to survive. Yoren, dragging his injured leg, raised his longsword and pointed it at Amory. "Come on, you damned bastards! You dare attack the Night's Watch, you will pay the price."

Amory said, "Everyone, get out of the way, I'll kill this bastard. Giddy up!" He charged forward on horseback, raising his sword high. Yoren also lunged forward with his sword. The swords clashed, and he was heavily struck in the chest by the warhorse. His entire body flew backward, falling directly into the river. Large amounts of blood stained the river water red. Yoren's body, whether dead or alive, floated downstream with the current.

Amory spat on the ground, "Tch, too good for him, otherwise I would have chopped off his head. Clean this up, let's go back."

Amory returned to the camp. The battle here had already ended. The soldiers drove the prisoners to one side, locking them up with ropes and shackles.

Amory: "How is it? Did you find the bastard?"

Two soldiers looked at each other, dragging a body out from the pile of corpses. "Sir, according to the characteristics they described, this should be the kid. We found him already dead. He was wearing this horned helmet on his head."

Amory picked up the helmet and held it out to the gold cloak. "Identify it yourselves, is this the person you're looking for?"

The gold cloak said, "The information we received is like this."

Amory: "Should I chop off the kid's head?"

The gold cloak's body trembled involuntarily. "No need, sir. My orders are to deal with Gendry. It wasn't said to bring him back, this is enough."

Amory wasn't in the mood to pay attention to these people. "Clean this up, take away anything that's useful. Take the prisoners back to Harrenhal."

For the next three days, Arya and her little friends hid and dodged. They avoided the main roads, specifically choosing to walk on those country paths. Despite being in a war, the purchasing power of money was still strong. That short, fat soldier was surprisingly rich. There was a gold dragon and thirty silver stags in his money pouch, plus a large pile of copper coins.

That day, they came to a small village not far from the sea, with only a few dozen households. Unexpectedly, they even saw a few monks. Asking the farmers, they found out that they were all going to the Quiet Isle as penitent brothers.

Before they could rest, a large group of Lannister cavalry surrounded the entire village. Arya's heart sank when she saw that they were all cavalry. Because she recognized the tall knight leading them. Gregor Clegane, the most brutal knight in the Seven Kingdoms. In the tournament, she personally saw the Mountain cleave a warhorse's head off with a single sword strike.

Knowing that escape was definitely impossible, she wrapped her personal short sword and other weapons in cloth with stones and threw them into the well in the yard. As expected, not long after, Lannister soldiers were searching for people from house to house. They gathered all the villagers in the center of the village, and brutally tied them up with ropes. Anyone who dared to resist, regardless of gender or age, was executed directly.

Arya said in a low voice, "Bend over, lower your head, don't look at them, and don't talk."

These people were escorted to Harrenhal. Since House Hoare fell, it has become even more dilapidated for more than a decade. Outside the city, there was a continuous stretch of tents, with a large number of Lannister troops stationed, mainly because Harrenhal couldn't fit so many people.

Arya followed the captured villagers into Harrenhal. They were held in the open air in wooden fences. This place may have been used to raise livestock before, the smell was indescribable. The Mountain and his men simply didn't treat these prisoners as human beings, and every day they would pick out one or two to torture and kill under the guise of interrogation. Then they would chop off their heads and nail them to the wooden fences.

This day, unfortunately, it was Arya and Gendry's turn. They were taken to the interrogation place. Gendry swallowed his saliva, standing in front of Arya. Arya's expression was calm. There were many tools around that could be used as weapons, she was looking for an opportunity to strike.

Lord Tywin seemed to notice the situation here and walked over. He asked with a stern face, "Why aren't these people sent to the dungeons?"

The Mountain said, "Sir, the dungeons are already full. These people will be dealt with after interrogation, there's no need to waste them."

Tywin disapproved, "These are all young and strong laborers. Our manpower isn't abundant to this point! What did you do before?" He walked up to Gendry and asked.

Gendry swallowed his saliva and said, "Reporting to the lord, I used to be a blacksmith."

"Haha, a blacksmith. How are you fools interrogating people? You're wasting such scarce talent." Tywin slapped the interrogating soldier, then turned to look at Arya.

The soldier immediately scolded, "Kneel when you see the lord, kneel down kid, or I'll dig out your heart."

Tywin: "Don't worry, child, he won't do that. This is a girl, you stupid donkey. Tell me, why are you dressed as a boy?"

Arya: "Sorry, lord, it's safer on the road this way."

Tywin: "You're smart, smarter than all these fools. Go assign these prisoners to work, and bring the girl over, I need a new cupbearer."

"Yes, Lord Duke."
